My thoughts and ideas

Learning to let go of the outcome

to haveI have taught yoga for 18 years.  For many of those years, I needed the money that I earned from yoga to buy groceries.  After all I was a single parent with a lot of people living in my home.

With all of that pressure, I sometimes wonder what I really brought to the mat.  Clearly it was expectation to have large classes.  Expectation that enough students would attend so I could feed my family.

Oh how I attached to the attendance of my classes.  And often felt like a complete failure when no one would attend. (Which has happened to every yoga teacher ever, it is a little secret no yoga studio wants you to know!)  I would feel like I was an awful teacher and many times I would pray and ask if I was doing the right thing being a teacher.

in lineAs I began to study, I learned the Yama of Asteya ( non-stealing) that my perspective began to shift.  I was stealing the heart of yoga from my students and being selfish.  I was selfish by being upset that there were no students in the classes.  Counting "my" money.

I was called out by the Universe on this way of living.

I began to practice "non-stealing".  I began buying coffee for the person behind me in line.  Began being generous with my attention.  Working to purify my intention of teaching, which is to be of service.

Today, I can let go of the attendance at my classes.  (this is the funny outcome, never again have I had a class where I had no students since my heart changed!)

Learning to live the philosophy of yoga as well as learning the poses has brought me more peace and joy.  It has brought more love to my classes and I honestly love my students.  (AND my food shelves have plenty.)

I love you and I am blessed to know your heart! May your walk to learn to live the Yamas bring you happiness and joy.

I have made these meditation supplies to help support your special journey in this path called life. The Bee Silas collection is a lot like he is, fun , serious and always reassuring. The essential oils that I used in both the soap and the candles are orange and vanilla. While the candle will release the essence of the oils, the soap will released that delightful aroma into your body and life!

I want to be your teacher!

After spending decades of research with somatic expression, emotional and mental health , recovery, I realized it is time for me to begin to put it all together, in one place.

I am a strong minded woman who has worked her way through college, trauma healing, recovery, loss and grief, depression, anxiety and body shame.  I did this while raising 6 children and usually working a minimum of 2 jobs at once.

I am now a powerful elder and am stepping into those shoes to share a lifetime of learning and growth with those who seek this path.

May you be blessed and may you know that when you come here, you are loved and valued , just as you are.

    Namaste
