Day 5, learning , learning and don't spend money on a spiritual retreat!

Feedback from people doing the challenge!!

"Did my 108 yesterday after yoga (forgot to post) and again this morning. Did them all without taking a break. Amazingly was able to pushed through the pain in my feet and it's getting easier. My son and dog were out with me to support me. Beautiful morning"

"Day 5 Today was pretty much opposite of yesterday. Today’s was all mental. The physical part was tough but not like it’s been. Today I think the toughest part was realizing I needed to stay focused since I wasn’t concentrating so much on the physical aspect, because it wasn’t quite so painful. And focusing mentally staying in the moment is always the hardest part for me. So today was kind of a struggle mentally. And has anyone else noticed being extra emotional? I think I’m just tired and that’s part of it but could be more not sure. Good luck on day five everyone!"

I am happy to dedicate a series of sun salutations to you if you need. Email me and I will let you know when I have done it!

I agree with  my fellow  yogis, day 5 is a bit easier.  Yes, also my body is getting a body stiff, I think I will have to add more other kinds of yoga into the salutations to make sure I have balance.

I am making sure to do the symmetrical salutations to avoid injury.   ( and will start mixing it up at day 7 to help my body stay flexible and avoid injury!)

Let's talk about why I do yoga and what we are learning in the challenge.

First, I have to digress a little. I have utilized yoga for years to assist me with my recovery from addiction, to heal from trauma and sexual assault.   Makes me laugh that there are so many " trainings"   yoga trainers are charging big, big dollars for other teachers to become " certified " in the trauma-informed teaching.  I have used being trauma informed and a survivor to help me literally learn to stand when people are talking, learn to not back down when terrified and to come into an agreement with my body that if it gives me a red flag, promising I will listen. Sixteen years of yoga piecing me back together ;mind, body and spirit!

Back to the sun salutations. In response to your question, yes, my emotions are getting mixed up too!  I have found myself with a "take no guff from people" mood, wanting to be in the quiet and speak little.  This is the gift of the sun salutations, it is shifting me right now, to clear out and make right sized the grief and anger.   In other people , the emotional body is shifting and moving too.   Please know, you will not allow yourself to go where you don't want to go or are ready to go.  This will be about healing!!  I don't know what for you, oh gosh, I am not even sure I know that I needed. I am just faith filled enough to know it is happening.

As I was moving through the 108 today, I found that I just let the prayers flow and change. Prayers for people in my life, prayers for the hurting. In the middle around 51,  I began musing about how I am literally pressing everything I have into my dream. How I am pushing to get clearer , listen deeper at this time.   Then I had to laugh a bit, thinking of a friend who spent thousands of dollars to fly far away just find out that the answers she wanted were always in her home.  This is my spiritual retreat, right here, in Olympia.  My prayers are focused , my requests are changing and my gratitude growing.

All just on day 5....
